As a Spartanburg native, Derek graduated the University of South Carolina in 2003 with a degree in Business Administration. Soon after, he followed his family’s footsteps by entering the insurance business. Derek is co-owner of Gurganus Insurance Agency Inc., and Gurganus Health Insurance Agency. He has 20 years of experience in home, auto, life and tailored medical insurance needs as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Agent. Derek’s passion of working with people and commitment to excellence in customer service inspired him to start a successful career in Real Estate.  He loves our community and is dedicated to helping others find their perfect house and make Spartanburg their home.
 
Derek is a member if the Spartanburg Association of Realtors and NAPA (National Association of Professional Agents). His wife Krystal, their son Landon, and daughter Lydia Grace live on the eastside of Spartanburg. Together they enjoy time together, being outdoors, and serving organizations that provide assistance and support to individuals with Special Needs & Disability Groups.
